The Center for Fetal Medicine and Women’s Ultrasound is one of the state’s premier centers for comprehensive prenatal services. We are dedicated to providing the highest level of specialized consultative care throughout your pregnancy, utilizing the most advanced technology available.

Our highly skilled team is built around a collaborative approach to complex care. It includes board-certified Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists, ARDMS certified perinatal sonographers, board-certified medical geneticists, board-certified genetic counselors, and a certified diabetes educator and nutritionist. Every member of our team works closely with your primary healthcare provider to ensure comprehensive, compassionate high-risk obstetric consultative services.

Our practice is a state-approved Prenatal Diagnosis Center, recognized for its ability to screen and test for maternal or fetal complications using high-resolution ultrasound with 3D and 4D capabilities and diagnostic testing as needed. We provide advanced care for complicated maternal-fetal conditions and multiple gestations, preconception consultations, and gynecologic ultrasound as ordered by your primary physician.

Certified Diabetic Educator and Nutritionist

Gestational diabetes refers to diabetes that is diagnosed during pregnancy. It is important to manage blood sugars to decrease the chance of developing complications for both mother and baby. Patients will work with our certified diabetic educator to develop meal plans and get assistance with medications, if needed, to accommodate the rising levels of hormones during pregnancy.

California Prenatal Diagnostic Center

We are a state approved California Perinatal Diagnostic Center. We offer comprehensive screening for identifying genetic disorders and birth defects in a developing fetus. Our specialized team of maternal fetal medicine specialists, board certified sonographers, genetic counselors all work together to offer our patients a full range of services and support for women that includes counseling, laboratory testing and consultations.

High Risk Obstetric Consultative Services

We work with primary care providers to provide high risk pregnant women, thru consultation, co-management and direction of care with a comforting and reassuring experience through out their pregnancy. We provide consultative services for chronic diseases, multiples, (twins, triplets, and more) and fetal abnormalities.

Genetic Counseling

Genetic counselors can help patients understand how genes, medical conditions and being a carrier of a genetic disorder can affect pregnancy. Genetic diseases are common in some families and ethnic groups. A trained counselor can assess a potential risk in a pregnancy, and help families make informed decisions regarding genetic screening.

Carrier Screening

Carrier screening is testing that is used to determine weither you or your partner are carrying a genetic mutation that could cause a serious inherited disorder in your baby. At the Center, our counselors also offer non invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) which analyzes DNA (cell free DNA) to pinpoint the baby’s risk for a number of genetic disorders, including Down Syndrome.

Nonstress Test

We offer NST testing to check on your baby’s health in a non-invasive way. This test is a common prenatal test monitoring the heartbeat and how it responds to the baby’s movement. There is no stress placed on the fetus during his test.

Management of Chronic Diseases & Pregnancies

Because of an aging childbearing population, there exists many more pregnant women with pre-existing medical conditions. The rate of pregnant woman over 35 has increased, and the treatments for chronic diseases have advanced. It is important to get chronic illnesses under control before getting pregnant. We aim to provide comanagement with your primary physician for a successful pregnancy outcome.

High Resolution Ultrasound

At the Center, we utilize high resolution ultrasound technology which provides a moveable light source, both 3D and 4D imaging. We are able to assess the baby’s development of the brain, spine, face, hands and feet. Also, we utilize pulse and color doppler ultrasound to improve the accuracy of diagnosis of the heart and great vessels.

Multiple Gestations

Pregnancies with multiple gestations can lead to higher health complications for the baby and mother. We watch very closely for complications, such as intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR), preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, premature labor, associated with multiples. More women are conceiving at an older age, using infertility treatments which may increase the chance of a multiple gestation pregnancy. Our goal is to provide comprehensive care throughout your pregnancy.
